I did a bit of research, and found a few coins similar, but none identical.
It’s brownish in color (probably old copper) and the edges of the coin are wavy.
On one side, there is a leaf or feather design forming a large crescent or moon shape. Snow Removal Denver . Inside this crescent is an "O" shaped character (which I believe is the Arabic numeral for 5) and a bit of Arabic writing. At the bottom it says "five milliemes"
On the other side, it has more Arabic along the top, along the bottom it looks like it says "1970-" and then four more characters that I cannot identify.
In the middle is a slightly European-looking design with a crown on top.
I’m 99% sure this is an Egyptian coin worth 5 "milliemes" (what ever that means), but the ones I saw when looking up Egyptian currency were circular and slightly different in design. However, the one in current print didn’t seem to come into use until 84, so it might just be an older version of the same coin.
Also, is it worth anything? I’m guessing not, being a recent, common coin, but it’s worth a try.

Without seeing it I would say you have a 5 Milliemes (denomination) from Libya. The coin has scalloped edges and is around the same size an a USA cent. The 1970 you see is actually Arabic for AH 1365. That is 1965 in the western dating system. The coin had a mintage of 8,500,000 so it is not scarce. It can be found in a coin dealers world coin box for around .25 cents. Some of the coins of Egypt look some what the same, but there is no match to your description. It has to be KM# 7.
